Rhodotorula glutinis ATCC 28052 is a yellow to
pink-colored basidiomycetous fungus that produces carotenoids. It
was isolated from a culture plate in England and can grow on a wide
range of carbon sources. The strain was obtained from the ATCC http://www.atcc.org/.
