The genome sequence and gene prediction of Kuraishia
capsulata CBS 1993 have not been determined by the JGI, but
were downloaded from NCBI on May
31, 2016. In order to allow comparative analyses with other
fungal genomes sequenced by the Joint Genome Institute, a copy of
this genome is incorporated into Mycocosm.
Please note that this copy of the genome is not maintained by NCBI
and is therefore not automatically updated. JGI tools were used to
automatically annotate predicted proteins.
Kuraishia is a genus of two species of ascomycetous yeasts
in the family Saccharomycetaceae. The type species Kuraishia
capsulata was originally described as a member of
Hansenula (now Pichia) in 1953. K.
molischiana was described as new to science in 2004. The
complete genome sequence of K. capsulata was reported in
2013.
